The Grind of Mining Silver

At this stage of the game you will focus on ONE ORE. --==SILVER==--

Now keep in mind your goal is to mine the PRICY ORES. See the main page on mining for specific ores.

Finding large ammounts of silver is not easy and will be competitive. Frankly its easier to buy silver ore and silver bars for your engineering recipes. BUT You and I are not about that.

There are shortcuts though. I truly suggest you do this with a MAGE. Mages make your life easier because they can port themselves everywhere.

Silverr ore will require we head back and make sure we get trained. Use the map of the city Ironforge . The trainer for the mining profession is circled in red. If you chat with a guard, you can get the guard to direct you to the mining profession. You need to head back to Ironforge or if you prefer Stormwind and get trained to mine Silver. Either way if you get lost finding a trainer talk to a guard.

Mining silver is going to be a bit of a grind. So again pour yourself several stiff drinks, and if possible grab a friend or at least start a conversation in your guild to keep you going. Mining silver is a next level grind.

SILVER IS VERY RARE

You will find it in Northern Stranglethorn, Feralas and Hillsbrad Foothills. I play mostly Alliance and in the Eastern Kingdoms so the closest ally friendly zone is Northern Stranglethorn. I put a map below.

Lets switch gears a bit and head south down to Stormwind Way, I will take all of my Copper and Tin and smelt it all in order to level up my mining. Then head into the deep south with my mage to grind out the Silver ore. To do this efficiently I may have to pull some tricks.

Now mining that copper will level you to level 50. At this point smelt the copper and head to trainer to learn how to mine and smelt tin.

Do the same process with Tin from mining level 50 to 100. Near level 100 You may be better off mining silver.

This is kind of a choke point for a new player. Its time for us to either buy and mine tin and then smelt bronze, or if we are dirt poor Head to mine silver.

So hello Silver here we come. Whatever silver is left over we sell.

Down south we go to Northern Stranglethorn.

Keep in mind this is a grind. Join a good guild, party hard , play hard, you will eventually make bank if you learn all the skills and mine all teh ores.

I intend to mine and mine and mine in Northern Stranglethorn until the silver I mine has leveled me up to level 100.

Now silver ore is worth a bundle since it is rare. If you have the cash to buy it and smelt it yourself to level up you may want to.

But starting out as a new player silver ore is worth your time to build up your gold reserves.

Now I found a silver vein in beautiful Northern Stranglethorn . It will only take a few of these nodes, and I got lucky, to push me over the edge to level 100 mining. On my way to 100 I intend to maximize my profits and mine as much Silver ore as possible within an hour of mining.

Now a survey of ores in Northern, I found 2 Silver nodes for every 10 nodes. So Silver is about 20% which is pretty nice profits for me. Meet me at the tavern folks The drinks are on me. Off to mine some more.

Now it is as always a bit of a grind. But you gotta keep in mind gold coins don't mine themselves.

You need to put in the time mining and smelting to make some big profits. As the market fluxuates you will learn where the high price ores are and learn how the market cycles.

The lessons you learn as you mine and gain experience are really going to pay off later.

Get your butt out there and Mine .

Try to get your gold reserves at about 1000 gold at this point . If you are at 1000 gold earned by mining you did really well.

This mining grind is hard. But Get yourself a long island ice tea. grab some loudmouth buddies and enjoy the game as you grind the grind.

TBC Burning crusade zone Mine All ores: Fel Iron About 14g each, Adamantite Ore 14g. Khorium Ore worth about 100 - 200 gold each.
Wrath of the Lich King zones Mine all ores. Cobalt ore 20g each. Saronite ore 10g each. Titanium ore about 100g each.
